The new cockpit and ADAS integration platform from Bosch is based on the Snapdragon Ride Flex SoC from Qualcomm Technologies

Two leading automotive suppliers Qualcomm Technologies Inc. and Robert Bosch GmbH jointly introduced the automotive industry’s first central vehicle computer capable of running infotainment and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) functionalities on one single system-on-chip (SoC).

Bosch unveiled this new central vehicle computer, known as its cockpit and ADAS integration platform, that is based on the Snapdragon Ride Flex SoC. The companies' work together on Bosch’s new cockpit and ADAS integration platform is a result of their long-standing relationship to develop highly consolidated solutions that are defining the future of software-defined vehicles. Together, the companies have successfully executed several in-vehicle infotainment (IVI) projects and established a robust global customer base in this area, a company press release stated on Jan. 9.

Developed on Qualcomm Technologies’ leadership in digital cockpit and ADAS compute platforms, the Flex SoC is designed to support mixed-criticality workloads, allowing for digital cockpit, ADAS and automated driving capabilities to be coimplemented on a single SoC. This unique capability enables automakers to realize a unified central compute and software-defined vehicle architecture that scales from entry to premium tiers.

Leveraging the Flex SoC, Bosch’s new vehicle computer can implement rich user experiences through infotainment, vehicle life-cycle management, and digital cluster and ADAS features, such as object, traffic light and lane detection; automated parking; intelligent and personalized navigation; voice assistance; control for multiple displays; and processing for camera radar and ultrasonic data.
