Road map to revenue: Comparing the product and platform strategies of Mobileye, Nvidia and Qualcomm in automotive semiconductors
We have summarized the dedicated automotive events hosted by Mobileye, Nvidia and Qualcomm from the end of 2024 through early summer 2025. This article will reiterate some aspects of those events, but its primary focus is on comparing and contrasting them.
The automotive semiconductor landscape is entering a pivotal phase with Qualcomm, Nvidia and Mobileye all launching Level 2+ and above systems into production for BMW, Mercedes-Benz, and Volkswagen (VW), respectively, in 2025. This means 2025 and 2026 will be critical for deployment and execution for these systems-on-chip (SoCs) suppliers and the industry in general. Consider this a milestone, especially as traditional original equipment manufacturers transition to more safety-rich applications to enhance driver capabilities and, in some circumstances, take over for the driver. While AI receives significant attention, recent advances in end-to-end (E2E) algorithms are setting the stage for the continued evolution of centralized compute and software-defined vehicle (SDV) architectures.
