Amcast re-files for Chapter 11 bankruptcy

Company’s creditors are estimated between 1,000-5,000 creditors with total debts of US$80.16m

Amcast has re-filed for bankruptcy protection under Chapter 11 just four months after emerging from an earlier Chapter 11 filing. The earlier chapter 11 filing was filed on 30th The filing includes Amcast Automotive of Indiana, Amcast Automotive-Franklin Plant, Amcast Automotive-Fremont Plant and Amcast Automotive-Gas City. According to court documents, Amcast Automotive has about 1,000 to 5,000 creditors, with total assets of US$81.57m and total debts of US$80.16m. A reorganization plan is to be filed with the court by 31st March 2006.
