Move is part of 2008 NHSTA regulation to mandate fitment by 2013

The US government is planning to move ahead with new rules requiring the use of “black box” data recorders in all new light vehicles, reports Automotive News. The US Department of Transportation announced the plan in a regulatory proposal released on 26 May.
