Denso remains leading supplier in 2010, Bosch narrows gap
The Automotive supplier industry experienced one of the strongest recoveries in 2010 after witnessing a sharp decline during 2009. Although the recovery had begun during the second half of 2009, it gathered momentum during 2010 with a significant rebound in vehicle demand in most markets. This fueled vehicle production which resulted in increased demand of components. According to IHS Automotive, the global light vehicle sales improved 13.4% during 2010 to 72.2 million units following successive declines in 2008 and 2009, while production recorded even higher growth of 24.6% to 73.9 million units.
