Plans to manufacture tyre which improves 3% fuel efficiency

Cooper Tire & Rubber has received a grant of USD1.5m from the US Department of Energy (DOE) to develop fuel-efficient tyres, reports Tire Review.  Cooper plans to develop a technology to produce an ultra-lightweight tyre which improves vehicle fuel efficiency by a minimum of 3%.
