Tower Automotive Inc. wants to scale down its North American operations as part of its strategy to return to profitability and emerge from Chapter 11 reorganization. According to documents filed by the company on 4 January 2006 in US Bankruptcy Court, the company wants to reduce the number of its North American plants from 24 to about 15 by January 2007.
