Magnesium part used in vehicle chassis is 30% lighter than similar part made from aluminium

GM China Advanced Technical Centre’s (ATC) micro-foundry and formability lab has completed the low-pressure casting of a magnesium part in a move to make progress in lightweight automotive materials research, says a press release.
