New fuel economy standards raise CAFE to 54.5 mpg by 2025

The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) have sent the final drafts of new fuel economy standards to the White House Office of Management and Budget for a final approval.
