Audi working on electric turbocharger technology
Prototype based on existing 3.0L V6 TDI Bi-turbo powertrain
Audi is reported to be working on a new twin-turbocharged engine that uses an electrically driven turbocharger in tandem with a conventional unit in order to reduce turbo lag and improve throttle responsiveness. According to an Autocar report, the prototype powertrain is based on Audi's existing and just launched 3.0L V6 TDI Bi-turbo powertrain.
