Dongfeng to form JV with Getrag
Chinese automaker Dongfeng Motor and German transmissions maker Getrag AG will form a joint venture (JV) to produce transmissions in China.
Dongfeng and Getrag will invest EUR120 million (USD156.6 million) to form a 50:50 JV that will produce transmissions in China for Dongfeng's passenger and light commercial vehicles. The new JV will be called Dongfeng Getrag Transmission and will begin production at a new plant in China by the end of 2015. The first product to be produced will be a new, six-speed, dual-clutch transmission called 6DCT150.
