Japanese firms rethink Chinese expansion plans
Almost one-quarter of Japanese supplier companies are reconsidering their Chinese expansion and investment plans.
According to a report from Reuters, almost a quarter of Japanese suppliers are reconsidering plans in the face of anti-Japanese sentiment resulting from the territorial dispute over islands in the East China Sea. Japanese government statistics companies, such as Panasonic, followed automakers Nissan and Toyota to China and since 1990 over USD1 trillion has been invested in Chinese factories, involving over 20,000 firms, many linked to the automotive industry.
