Honda develops new one-motor hybrid system

To feature in new Fit subcompact hybrid from 2013

Honda has developed a gasoline-electric motor hybrid system for small cars, according to a press release. Honda's new system, called the One Motor Sport Hybrid, combines a 1,500CC engine and a seven speed dual clutch transmission with a built-in motor and a large capacity lithium-ion battery. It is claimed to be 30% more fuel efficient than its predecessors. The new system will be fitted into the Honda Fit from 2013.
