Toyota working on sodium ion battery technology to increase EV range – report
Aims to commercialise technology by 2020
Toyota is working on a new rechargeable sodium ion battery technology for electric vehicles (EVs), reports Japanese daily Nikkei. The automaker claims that the new batteries, significantly cheaper than current lithium-ion batteries, could potentially increase an EV’s range up to 1000km.
