US EPA grants waiver to allow California implement own vehicle emission standards

Also allows other US states to follow suit

The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has granted a waiver to the California Air Resources Board (CARB) empowering the agency to implement its own vehicle emission standards. The EPA is still to announce it officially though the development was confirmed in a press release from California Clean Cars Campaign, an independent organisation supporting the state’s endeavours on promoting environment-friendly vehicles.
