Bridgestone to expand Illinois site
Production is expected to grow by about 30% as a result of the investment.
Bridgestone has announced that it planning to expand one of its tire manufacturing sites in Normal, Illinois (United States), reports the Associated Press (AP). The tire-maker said that the site, which manufactures off-road tires, will be the subject of two multi-million-dollar expansion projects that will increase its headcount by more 80 employees. The company will invest in new equipment such as tire building machines and presser stations that can cure tires using high temperatures and pressure. The Pantagraph newspaper added that production is expected to grow by about 30% as a result of the investment.
