Volkswagen's (VW) Spanish brand SEAT is reportedly considering the manufacture of batteries to be used in hybrid and electric vehicles (EVs), reports Expansión. The manager of the automaker's research and development (R&D) department Mathias Rabe told the newspaper during the Geneva Motor Show that a study is being undertaken in co-operation with local component supplier Ficosa and Japanese battery producer Sanyo. He added that the brand should also put its first hybrid vehicle on sale during 2015.
