Hyundai plans to start mass production of the Tucson ix fuel-cell electric vehicle (FCEV) this month, reports The Korea Economic Daily. The automaker plans to produce 1,000 FCEV models by 2015 and supply them to public institutions in South Korea and abroad. After 2015, Hyundai plans to sell FCEV models to the general public.
