Work is under way and the project is scheduled for completion by 2016

The German conglomerate Freudenberg Group has announced plans to expand its Mysore plant in the southern Indian state of Karnataka, with an investment of INR1.3 billion (USD24.2 million) earmarked to establish a modern manufacturing facility there, making it the company's largest investment in the Asia-Pacific region, reports the Hindu. The German group, which develops and manufactures seals, vibration control components, filters, and medical and mechatronics products, among others, intends to convert the Mysore unit into a technical centre for excellence for customers in Southeast Asia and the Pacific Rim, serving them with customised solutions. Work on the modernised plant is under way and the project is scheduled for completion by 2016, according to a company release.
