Toyota JV to begin Land Cruiser production in Vladivostok
Toyota will form the JV with Russian vehicle manufacturer Sollers and will begin production of the large SUV model in mid-February
Toyota has announced in a company press release that it will start assembly at a new joint-venture (JV) operation in the Russian city of Vladivostok to manufacturer the Land Cruiser Prado SUV. According to a Kyodo news agency report, Toyota will form the JV with Russian vehicle manufacturer Sollers and will begin production of the large SUV model in mid-February. A ceremony to mark the start of assembly on a trial basis was held in Vladivostok on Friday, with Russian First Deputy Prime Minister Igor Shuvalov delivering a speech.
