Spanish passenger car production falls 16.3% y/y during 2012
IHS Automotive currently expects that light-vehicle production will rise by around 4% y/y during 2013
Spanish passenger car production has fallen 16.3% year-on-year (y/y) during 2012, according to the latest data published by ANFAC. The trade association said that this decline had resulted in 1,539,604 units being built during the year. However, it added that the number of sport utility vehicles (SUVs) built has increased by 15.1% y/y to 55,469 units. Light commercial vehicle (LCV) production has fared badly, falling again by 26.9% y/y to 202,193 units.
