VW planning to cut Passat production further

Volkswagen (VW) is planning to undertake a further production stoppage in Germany in response to weak demand for its Passat, reports Reuters. The automaker said that it will halt output of this vehicle at its Emden (Germany) site on 8 February, 15 February, 22 February and 1 March. A spokesperson for VW told the news service, "We'll keep monitoring the market situation in Europe very closely" when asked whether the automaker was planning further cutbacks in March and April.
