Peugeot launches 208 production at Porto Real factory in Brazil
As a result production capacity at the facility has been lifted from 150,000 unit per annum (upa) to 200,000 upa.
PSA Peugeot Citroën has launched production of its new B-segment 208 model at its manufacturing facility in Porto Real, Brazil, according to a company press release. The company has invested in the region of EUR305 million (USD412.44 million) to prepare the Port Real facility for production of the 208 and to prepare the model for the Brazilian market. As a result production capacity at the facility has been lifted from 150,000 unit per annum (upa) to 200,000 upa. Philippe Varin, Chairman of PSA's Management Board, noted: "Brazil is a key market, as well as a key focus of our international expansion strategy, which is well underway. The local launch of the Peugeot 208 is a very exciting project, and I commend you on its success".
