Geely to begin building plant in Belarus in September

The construction of a plant in Belarus to assemble Geely cars will begin in September 2013, Belapan news agency reports. The report quotes Industry Minister Dzmitry Katsyarynich who said that the plant will be built near the village of Perasady in the Minsk region. The plant will be operational from late 2015 with an annual capacity to assemble 60,000 cars a year. The second phase of construction will include a car body stamping facility as well as an expansion of the plant bringing total production capacity to 120,000 units per annum by 2018.
