PSA unions offer some support for restructuring, CGT members continue action
Despite the co-operation of some unions, members of the CGT union have continued to protest at the Aulnay facility on the outskirts of Paris (France)
A number of PSA Peugeot-Citroën's unions have offered some indication that they are behind plans to restructure the automaker's French operations, reports Bloomberg News. The leader of the FO union, Christian Lafaye, told the news service, "I am extremely worried by the company's current situation… If it files for bankruptcy tomorrow, I wouldn't be surprised. The more we are waiting for the restructuring plan, the worse it will be". PSA added in a statement that it "welcomes the responsible attitude" of the CFE/CGC, CTFC and FO labour unions "in a context of an environment of sustained recession in the European" which has "made restructuring an absolute necessity".
