General Motors (GM) to suspend production at Fairfax to reduce Malibu, LaCrosse output
Bid to reduce inventory levels of the Chevrolet Malibu and the Buick LaCrosse
General Motors (GM) will suspend production at its Fairfax plant in Kansas this week and resume it from 17 February, reports Automotive News. The production is being suspended in a bid to reduce inventory levels of the Chevrolet Malibu and the Buick LaCrosse so as to allow demand to catch up with supply. Kurt McNeil, vice-president of GM's US sales operations, said the company would use a variety of options, including production cuts, to ensure that supply is in line with demand.
