Bridgestone's net profit more than doubles y/y in Q4, jumps by two-thirds during 2012
Expects net profit to jump 37% to JPY235 billion on sales of JPY3.55 trillion, up 17% for the full fiscal year.
Bridgestone said today (18 February) that its net profit more than doubled year-on-year (y/y) to JPY55.7 billion (USD592 million) in the final quarter of 2012. Sales rose 3% y/y to JPY813.4 billion in the three-month period, up from JPY789.9 billion generated in the same quarter last year. For the full fiscal year 2012, the company's net profit surged by two-thirds y/y to JPY171.61 billion and operating profit jumped 49.5% y/y to JPY286 billion on sales of JPY3.04 trillion, up 0.6% y/y.
