Toyota eyes record global production in 2013
Plan to produce a record 8.79 million vehicles under the Toyota and Lexus brands in 2013 and 9.5 million vehicles in 2014
An unidentified member of the Federation of All Toyota Workers' Union has disclosed that Toyota plans to produce a record 8.79 million vehicles under the Toyota and Lexus brands in 2013 and 9.5 million vehicles in 2014, reports Reuters. The largest Japanese automaker also plans to produce 3.02 million vehicles in Japan in 2013 and 3.0 million vehicles in 2014, according to the member, who said that the automaker presented the figures to labour unions during pay negotiations. Toyota could not immediately be reached for comment, said Reuters.
