Tesla aims to increase Model S output by 25% in 2013
But plans to hold off on increasing output until the high amount of overtime and delay in parts shipments faced in 2012 are resolved
Tesla plans to increase production of the Model S by at least 25% this year, reports Bloomberg. CEO Elon Musk told Bloomberg that the company will increase production to achieve output of 500 cars a week in mid-2013 after having reached 400 a week in December 2012. However, it plans to hold off on increasing output until the high amount of overtime and delay in parts shipments faced in 2012 are resolved. Musk also said that production at its Fremont, California plant may increase beyond 500 a week at the end of 2013 provided there is enough demand.
