Plan to add a total of 12 additional shifts at the two plants to create extra capacity

Audi has announced that it will bolster its production capacity at its two main German production facilities at Ingolstadt and Neckarsulm, according to a Reuters report. The company plans to add a total of 12 additional shifts at the two plants, which will create extra capacity for popular vehicle lines in the US such as the A6, A7 and Q5 sport utility vehicle (SUV). According to spokesperson Joachim Cordshagen, the company is also in talks with unions and works councils over adding two more shifts at the plant in the second quarter.
