Aims to capitalise on the opportunities available in India

Volvo is considering setting up local operations in India to assemble its passenger vehicles, reports the Economic Times. The company is preparing a long-term strategy to focus on the country's luxury car market, with the aim of capturing a 15% market share by 2020 with sales of 20,000 cars, gradually increasing to 30,000 in 2025. However, it has not yet finalised its investment plan for the project.
