Growing consumer awareness and regulatory vigilance resulting in sharp increase in recalls in world’s largest vehicle market

Volkswagen has been issued with a decree from the Chinese General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine (AQSIQ) to recall its vehicles fitted with the direct shift gearboxes (DSG) in China, saying that they may cause engine failures.
