Opel to close Bochum in 2014 after workers reject Deutschland plan
Plan aimed at securing jobs and car production till 2016
Opel has announced that IG Metall-affiliated workers at its Bochum car manufacturing plant have voted against the Deutschland plan, which would have safeguarded against compulsory redundancies at the plant before 2016 and which offered the chance of a component presence being maintained at the site.
