General Motors' (GM) Brazilian subsidiary has dismissed 598 workers at its struggling Sao Jose dos Campos plant in Sao Paulo state citing productivity concerns, reports Agence France-Presse (AFP). The layoffs are in line with an agreement reached in January following extensive talks between the automaker and union officials . According to a GM spokesman, the laid-off workers at the plant had been on paid leave since last August.
