Fiat to manufacture de-contented 500l for local Serbian market
Former Zastava factory in Kragujevac will benefit from a one-time government subsidy from the 2013 budget.
Fiat and the Serbian government have agreed on a plan to build a de-contented version of its 500L for the Serbian domestic market where the model is manufactured. According to a Reuters report the Fiat-controlled plant in the city of Kragujevac, which was formerly the Zastava factory, will build a basic version of the 500L, which will use a one-time government subsidy from the 2013 budget for 1,400 new hires this year and next to produce the cheaper model.
