BYD to build buses in California
Order from the Long Beach Transit company in California worth USD 14 million
Chinese automaker BYD Auto is to build a bus plant in California, the LA Times reports. The new plant will be located in Lancaster, bringing several new jobs to the region. The opening ceremony for the Lancaster plant will be held on 1 May. BYD has won an order from the Long Beach Transit company in California and will deliver ten electric buses, K9, to the company in June, 2014. The order alone is worth USD 14 million, Chinese media Auto Sina reports.
