Production will be stopped in the first week of June.

Ford has said it will temporarily shut down its Flat Rock assembly plant in Michigan for a month to prepare for production of the Fusion mid-size car, reports The Detroit News. Production will be stopped in the first week of June at the plant which currently produces Mustang. The idle time will be used to train new workers for the additional shift and finalise current production plans for the hot-selling mid-size car. The move is part of Ford's investment drive which will see a total of USD773 million being invested in six Michigan plants. The Ford Fusion is expected to start production at the plant in late August.
