Iran Khodro to produce 550,000 cars in 2013 without foreign aid
Calls continue from within the country for the Iranian government to step in to support automakers
Iranian carmaker Iran Khodro plans to produce 550,000 cars without reliance on foreign sources in the current Iranian year, started 21 March, reports Islamic Finance News. Iran Khodro has set for itself a daily output target of 2,000 units for the year, with required parts and components to be obtained from domestic suppliers. The vehicles to be produced during the year will include Runna, Peugeot, Samand and Suzuki passenger cars, along with Bardo pick-ups.
