Fiat to invest BRL15 bil. in Brazil up to 2016
To expand capacity to build cars, trucks, heavy equipment and engines.
Fiat is to invest BRL15 billion (USD7.45 billion) in Brazil up until 2016, reports Dow Jones Global Equities News. A spokesperson for the automaker told reporters that CEO Sergio Marchionne revealed the plans during a meeting with Brazilian president Dilma Rousseff yesterday (6 May). He said that the focus of the investment would include expanding capacity to build cars, trucks, heavy equipment and engines. In addition, the company will invest in a new military truck factory for the Iveco brand.
