An all-aluminium vehicle can shed more than 40% of body mass thus boosting fuel economy by 18%, when combined with secondary mass savings and other design changes, reveals a study conducted by EDAG and commissioned by the Aluminium in Transportation Group (ATG) of the US Aluminum Association.
