Maruti suspends production for two days, expects higher sales of gasoline cars
Decision to suspend production comes after weak May sales
Maruti has decided to suspend vehicle production at its Haryana plants for two days (7–8 June) in a bid to adjust inventory, reports the Economic Times. This is in addition to the planned maintenance shutdown that is regularly observed during June – production at Maruti's plants will be down for six days between 17 and 22 June for maintenance. A company spokesperson said that the suspension will shave nearly 5,000 units off production every day.
