Opel to replace Astra with Zafira at Rüsselsheim
Excess Astra production will go to Poland
General Motors (GM) will move production of the Zafira from the Bochum plant which is set for closure to the company's main Rüsselsheim site in Germany, replacing Astra production, according to a Bloomberg report that quoted Opel spokesperson Ulrich Weber. Excess Astra production from stopping production at Rüsselsheim will be moved to Gliwice, Poland, from early 2015. Talking of the switch Weber said, "It's a normal transition from one model to the other and a process that will evolve step by step".
