SEAT is proposing a reduction of hours among some workers at its Martorell and Zona Franca facility in Spain, reports Reuters. The automaker is said to have asked 571 workers to remain off work on a rotational basis between September and December. It also added that around 2,800 workers will be affected by a decision to halt production for 16 days during the same period, while 3,800 workers will be hit by a similar decision for 35 days in 2014. The automaker said in a statement that "the measures are aimed at guaranteeing the continuation of all staff at SEAT as well as an adequate relationship between production and demand for our products in the market."
