Renault hit by the poor economic situation in Europe

Renault is cutting some of the workforce on its afternoon shift at its Palencia (Spain) site, reports Cinco Dias. According to the news service, around half the staff will be cut on this shift on 9 September resulting in daily production of the Mégane being cut from 794 to around 600. It added that some of the staff affected by the move would be given the option to take roles at Valladolid, 50 kilometres away.
