Bridgestone to sell truck tires that can be retreaded twice
Underscores Bridgestone's strategy to focus on developing innovative products targeting fleet customers
Bridgestone said yesterday (11 July) that it plans to sell its first models of commercial tires for trucks and buses that can be retreaded twice, reports the Nikkei financial daily. The company will first offer three models for 22.5-inch wheels from its new M800 series of all-season tires in September. The series will eventually be extended to a full range of 16 sizes. Bridgestone said it has strengthened the body of the new tires by evenly dispersing the viscosity materials to limit air permeation which can weaken the rubber, thereby helping the tyre accommodate two tread replacements.
