Ford of Europe head sees further capacity reduction required in region

But Ford isn’t planning any further cutbacks.

The chief executive officer (CEO) of Ford of Europe, Stephen Odell, has said that he believes that light vehicle manufacturing capacity in the region needs further reducing, reports Automotive News Europe (ANE). The senior executive was quoted as saying that despite the cutbacks already implemented having reduced the regions capacity by between 1.5 million and 2 million units per annum (upa), Ford still believes that there will be an excess of a least 4 million upa.
