Company expects to double brake business by 2016

SANLUIS Rassini is supplying leaf springs, coil springs and brake rotors to GM’s 2014 GMC Sierra and 2014 Chevrolet Silverado trucks, states the company’s press release.

The company has used anticorrosive heat treatment called FNC (Ferritic Nitro-Carburizing) on the rotors being supplied, which improves the life of the rotor and reduces noise and vibration.

Eugenio Madero, CEO, SANLUIS Rassini North America said, “As trucks sales continue to exceed expectations, we’ve seen continued growth and tremendous opportunity not only within the industry but in our company as well. We have worked very closely with GM to provide high-quality products and superior technology that end consumers want in today’s trucks.”

Significance: SANLUIS Rassini expects its brakes business to double by 2016. Rassini products are used on all 10 of the top-selling pick-up trucks in North America. During first quarter (Q1) 2013, light truck sales in North America were up 10% as compared to the corresponding period in 2012 and are being pushed to the highest level in as much as eight years, according to the media reports. Similarly SANLUIS Rassini recorded an 8% year-on-year (y/y) increase in Q1 2013 sales compared to Q1 2012. Based on IHS forecasts of light truck sales, the company is expecting to achieve 12-15% additional sales as compared to last year.
