GAZ Group begins Mercedes Sprinter Classic series production at Nizhny Novgorod

Daimler is investing more than EUR100 million in the product's modification, the production facilities, and the sales network while the GAZ Group is investing more than EUR90 million in the project.

ercedes-Benz began full series production of the Sprinter Classic at the GAZ Group's plant at Nizhny Novgorod yesterday (15 July), according to a company press release. It began trial production of the light commercial vehicle (LCV) last month and has now begun manufacturing vehicles for sale in the Russian market. Mercedes-Benz Vans and GAZ signed a deal to manufacture vans together at Nizhny Novgorod in 2012. Daimler is investing more than EUR100 million in the product's modification, the production facilities, and the sales network. The GAZ Group, in turn, is investing more than EUR90 million in the project.
