Suzuki, Mitsubishi to recall 250,000 vehicles in Japan over seatbelt issue

All problematic vehicles were supplied with seatbelts from the same supplier

Suzuki and Mitsubishi announced yesterday (17 July) that they were recalling a combined 250,000 vehicles over a seatbelt problem, reports Jiji Press. According to Japan's Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT), Suzuki is recalling 229,351 units spanning seven models made between August 2012 and April 2013, including the Alto and WagonR minivehicles; while Mitsubishi is recalling 23,658 units of three of its models manufactured during the same period, including the Minicab commercial vehicle.
