SEAT reduces planned temporary downsizing plan

IHS Automotive anticipates that production at Martorell will grow in 2013 by almost 5% year-on-year (y/y) to 396,000 units

SEAT has said that it will reduce the level of a temporary downsizing planned for its Martorell (Spain) site, reports Spanish Collection. The downsizing will now affect 427 employees, down from 571. However, it added that it is retaining its plans for a 16-day stoppage on its production line 3, which will affect 2,863 people. The line, which produces the SEAT Leon and employs 3,810 staff, will also stop operating for 35 days by the end of the year.
